Nutrition guidance
Eat real food.Keep it simple.
Garrett helps you build practical, whole-food habits that support your training and fit your life. No cleanses, no gimmicks, just things you can keep doing.
How it works
Nutrition guidance sits alongside your training, not apart from it. It comes up in your sessions, next to your custom program.
01
Start where you are
A plain look at how you eat now, your schedule, what you cook and what you actually enjoy.
02
Pick one habit
Not ten. One change you can keep doing, such as protein at breakfast or water on your desk.
03
Use real food
Foods that look close to how they came out of the ground or off the animal, in meals that are easy to repeat.
04
Check in and adjust
What worked, what did not, what is next. It comes up in your sessions and the plan changes as you do.
General guidance
The habits that do the heavy lifting
These are the kinds of habits Garrett works on with clients. They are general ideas, not a plan for you and not a promise of any result. Your own approach is built around how you live and eat.
At most meals
- A protein you like: eggs, chicken, fish, beans, Greek yogurt
- A vegetable, fresh or frozen
- A starch or whole grain in a portion that suits your day
- A little healthy fat, like olive oil or avocado
Through the day
- Water within reach, not a chore
- Real food ahead of ultra-processed snacks
- Eating slowly enough to notice when you are full
- A simple grocery list so the week is not a guess
Around training
- Not showing up to a session on an empty tank
- A real meal with protein afterward
- Sleep and rest treated as part of the plan
- No crash diets, cleanses or banned foods
Read it first, then decide
Garrett writes about food the way he coaches it: plain and practical. Start with the whole-food plate method, get the basics on protein and water, and remember that sleep and rest do as much for your results as dinner does.
Food habits only stick when training sticks, which is why this lives inside your sessions at home.
Common questions
- Is Garrett a registered dietitian?
- No. Garrett is a personal trainer. His nutrition guidance is general, practical advice about eating real food in a way that supports your training. It is not medical nutrition therapy.
- Will I get a meal plan?
- Not a rigid one. Garrett helps you build simple habits and a few go-to meals around foods you actually like. He does not write meal plans for medical conditions.
- Do I have to count calories or give up foods?
- No. The approach is whole foods most of the time, in portions that suit you, with room for the foods you enjoy. Nothing is banned.
- I have a medical condition or take medication. Can I still use this?
- Talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian about how you eat first. Garrett is happy to work alongside their advice, and anything he suggests is general guidance, not a replacement for it.
- Is nutrition guidance included in sessions?
- Yes. Whole-food nutrition guidance is part of working with Garrett, and it comes up during your sessions alongside your training.
